The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body representing 146 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), that provide primary healthcare across Australia. The NACCHO Public Health Registrar will work as part of the multi-disciplinary NACCHO Clinical team supported by two FAFPHMs. Registrars will work closely with NACCHO program teams and with the broader Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector. Some travel will be expected, including to visit member ACCHOs.NACCHO is seeking a motivated and collaborative individual who has excellent verbal and written communication skills, is able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, has knowledge of health research and critical appraisal, is able to think outside of conventional approaches, has a demonstrated ability to advocate and support community-controlled health care, and has an awareness of the National Agreement for Closing the Gap Priority Reforms.Qualifications, technical expertise and skill required
Medical Doctor - Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery or an Australian/overseas equivalent recognised by the Australian Medical Council
Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA without conditions, undertakings or reprimands.
Master of Public Health or equivalent acceptable to AFPHM
Enrolled in AFPHM Advanced Training with RACP
Mandatory National Policy Check
Mandatory Working with Vulnerable People and Children Check
A minimum of four years post graduate clinical experience
Previous experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health is highly regarded
