The Opportunity
Multiple roles available at different levels of experience across Australia to support a growing national team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join one of the most talented and respected engineering teams in Australia. Working within Perth office, you will be getting involved with design and planning activities for large scale multi discipline maritime facilities for a variety of industries including; Defence, general cargo facilities, oil & gas and emerging markets (i.e. Hydrogen terminals). Depending on your skillset, there will also be opportunities to get involved with other projects across a variety of sectors (bridges, water, transport, infrastructure, etc.).
This role will see you delivering fit for purpose solutions for our clients, including design and construction phase services. There are also opportunities to lead and develop a diverse group of engineers and support staff who are committed to delivering the best outcomes for our clients.
Who are you?
While we are looking for junior and senior structural engineers that have experience in designing marine structures, the below skills and experience is preferred;
1. Experience in the design, evaluation and reporting on ports, harbours, coastal works and marine structures
2. Solid experience working with the Defence sector and a deep understanding of how the defence sector manages projects (preferred, but not necessary)
3. Experience in the assessment, analysis, design and remediation of maritime structures (wharves, jetties, port developments, marinas, seawalls, pontoons etc)
4. Structural experience across other sectors (e.g., bridges, water, transport etc) is desirable but not necessary.
5. Strong communication skills, both verbally to build strong relationships with stakeholders and written to produce comprehensive technical reports.
6. Demonstrated skills in providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff to enhance their skills and capability (for senior positions)
7. Familiarity with maritime (Australian or other) design codes and guidelines in Australia and Asia
8. Capability and experience in using structural/maritime analysis software (desirable skillset: SPACE GASS, Strand 7, OPTIMOOR, STAAD.Pro, SESAM)
9. Degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering
10. Engineers Australia Chartered accreditation or similar Australian Professional Engineering Accreditation that will allow to obtain accreditation within agreed timeframe (for senior positions).
11. Candidates MUST hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship.
