Role Details
The Department for Child Protection is seeking Senior Child and Youth Workers to join the employment pool established by Out of Home Care.
The roles are responsible for:
· Supporting Child and Youth Workers to deliver quality outcomes for children and young people in care.
· Providing, leadership, direction and guidance to facilitate successful experiences for children and young people in care.
· Consulting and assisting in the training and development of Child and Youth Workers and Child and Youth Support Workers on a day-to-day basis.
· Contributing to the delivery and improvement of programs and services which facilitate the recovery and development of children and young people.
About You
We are looking for confident individuals with extensive experience in working with vulnerable children and young people with complex issues and needs in a residential or related care setting.
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to communicate effectively together with the leadership skills required to resolve complex incidents while maintaining the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
Experience in the development and implementation of programs and projects for young people incorporating knowledge of Child and Adolescent Development and related frameworks is ideal.

About the Pool
Should you be successful, you will be advised (in writing) that you have been recommended to be included in this pool. Special Conditions
The successful applicant will be required to:
· Undertake and successfully complete the Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention within twelve months of commencing employment.
· Obtain and maintain a satisfactory suitability assessment to work with children and young people.
· Hold a current HLTAID004 or HLTAID012 - Provide Emergency First Aid in an Education Care Setting Certificate.
· Hold a current South Australian driver's license (P2 or above) and be able and willing to drive in the course of the duties of the role.
