The runway is long.Responsibilities Of The RoleThe role of the Operations Manager is to support the Director in executing the strategic vision of the business, marshalling, and developing its resources, overseeing the operations of a thriving business that includes the management of staff and budgets. With a strategic mindset and strong operational skills, the role will require excellent relationship management skills with experience in helping businesses meet their organisational objectives, manage risks, optimise productivity and cost efficiencies, and deliver a return on investment within agreed budgets and timeframes.The Operations Manager will also play a significant role in creating a flourishing workplace culture that is committed to helping all departments implement improvements that help the business to always deliver a high level of customer satisfaction. You will essentially manage the business and its operations so the Director can focus on other growth opportunities.You will be expected to coordinate and manage daily operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, HR, procurement, projects, logistics, and business development. This role is to consider and implement actions and procedures to ensure a safe working environment with minimal impact on the environment.Primary tasks include:Operational Efficiency: Ensure projects achieve operational efficiency, implement KPIs for all operational staff. Maintain job accountability within WCFM’s systems, ensuring jobs are raised, scheduled, and up to date.Safety & Compliance: Conduct toolbox and pre-start meetings to align with WCFM’s objectives. Perform site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with WCFM’s standards, as well as random spot checks and pre-start checks as necessary.Leadership & Coordination: Lead, mentor, and motivate. Work effectively in a team environment, ensuring you maintain consistency, leadership, and support to both internal and external stakeholders.Develop solutions to ensure increased productivity in the business.Follow up on ongoing projects by coordinating and monitoring closely with project personnel to achieve budget baseline.Troubleshoot, resolve and/or escalate specific customer problems.Oversee the activities of engaged contractors to ensure a suitable environment for customers and staff and confirming all services operate effectively and safely.Build and maintain positive relationships with our clients and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, good customer services, and achieve company goals.Identify opportunities to reduce waste and cost across business operations.Thorough knowledge of business systems and management; the ability to understand technical specifications; knowledge of OHS requirements; proficient in MS Office.And youPreferred Qualifications:You will ideally have a bachelor's degree majoring in either business administration, business, or commerce, combined with extensive construction industry experience.Prior experience with government contracts is highly regarded.A trade background is preferred, with experience in managing internal teams and contractors.Strong I.T. skills including proficiency in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills being a plus.Strong safety knowledge and awareness.Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with stakeholders.Demonstrated time management skills to meet strict deadlines.Experience reviewing commercial contracts and strong commercial acumen.Innovative thinking and a self-motivated, can-do attitude.To be considered for this role, you will be a high performer and have experience in similar roles, have proven success with building teams, and have good negotiation and interpersonal skills.
