Each year The Alfred admits over 300 burns patients and reviews over 1000 outpatients.In addition, The Alfred's Burns Service provides education and training for rural and regional clinicians involved in caring for burn-injured patients, and collaborates with community and industry groups on burn awareness campaigns and to provide first aid education and training.The Burns Service undertakes research into the causes and mechanisms of burn injuries, as well as evaluating emerging clinical treatment technologies.
The Victorian Adult Burns Service at The Alfred provides clinical leadership in all aspects of adult burn care.What you'll be doingIn this role, you will provide clinical services (assessment and interventions) to inpatients and outpatients and where appropriate link to community-based services.
Liaison with other members of the multi-disciplinary team and in particular with other psychosocial staff is an important aspect of the position.
