This Australian based organisation has a portfolio of established brands within the agricultural sector and has an extensive footprint across retail, wholesale and Asia. A fantastic opportunity now exists to join their seafood business as General Manager, with a focus on strategic growth, market position and relationship management.
Reporting to the Group CEO, you will work collaboratively with the Board and senior management team and will have full P&L responsibility for the business. Your focus will be on identifying and establishing new business opportunities and growing existing accounts by developing strong customer relationships. You will drive business growth through strategic sales initiatives, marketing campaigns, and key customer partnerships as well as operational efficiency. You will formulate and implement the company business plan with a focus on pricing matrixes and category management principles that will deliver sustainable growth. You are adept at identifying product gaps and opportunities for new business that fit within the company's distribution network. Importantly, you are a natural people leader who instils respect and trust in your team and have a passion for coaching and mentoring others. You have a proven track record of implementing and improving operational strategies, management systems and processes to ensure you are delivering against customer expectations. An engaging and charismatic leader, you enjoy working closely with your team in a role that has a blend of both strategic and operational demands.
The ideal candidate will have held a similar position as a GM, Commercial Manager or Senior National Sales Manager in FMCG/Agri and will bring extensive experience in sales, account management and business development. You will bring an excellent understanding of the Australian retail industry, and ideally experience in dealing with Asia and understanding the nuances of doing business in this Region. Essential experience includes manufacturing and knowledge of supply chain dynamics in dealing with fresh produce and shelf-life management. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to negotiate effectively and sustain stakeholder relationships. Formal tertiary qualifications in business or commerce are essential.
