Project Overview:
Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.
Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.
Job Summary:
As Workforce Services Supervisor, you will handle project Employee and Industrial relations activities, leading complex employee relations investigations, and resolving employee disputes including work stoppages.
You will interpret contracts, enforce work rules, and participate in negotiations.
Your work will facilitate positive Employee and Industrial relations on the construction project, minimizing problems that may lead to work stoppages and schedule delays.
Major Responsibilities:
* Interprets and administers applicable contracts, enterprise agreements and enforces work rules. Keeps abreast of Employee and Industrial laws and related legislation.
* Along with the jobsite Safety representative, responsible for field implementation of Environmental, Safety and Health programs as they pertain to craft personnel.
* Works with subcontractor representatives performing work on the construction project to ensure labour contracts are interpreted correctly and work rules are enforced uniformly.
* Analyses immediate and/or anticipated labour problems, decides on and implements corrective actions to prevent work stoppages and construction schedule delays, and implements craft process improvement programs at the jobsite level.
* Analyses jurisdictional work assignments based on local precedents and practices.
* Conducts and/or provides guidance in conducting informal and formal grievance hearings in accordance with applicable labour union contract procedures.
* Other responsibilities as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Good analytical and strategic planning skills: able to prioritize, pivot and respond to conflicting priorities.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office software.
* Previous employment relationships, employee or industrial relations, leadership skills.
* HSE legislative knowledge will also be highly regarded.
Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.

Additional Information:
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
