Key Responsibilities:
➢ Menu Innovation and Customization: Design and develop creative breakfast and lunch menus that reflect Café Wisteria's unique blend of modern and vintage styles. Incorporate fresh, seasonal ingredients and offer a range of vegetarian, gluten-free, and health-conscious options. Estimate daily food and labor costs to maintain high-quality dishes while managing costs effectively.
➢ Comprehensive Quality Control: Oversee the entire process from food procurement to presentation, ensuring that all dishes meet the highest standards of taste, quality, and appearance. Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain consistency and excellence in every dish, aligning with the café’s standards and customer expectations.
➢ Team Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with restaurant managers, kitchen staff, and front-of-house teams to resolve any issues related to food preparation. Ensure smooth operations by facilitating effective communication and coordination between all team members.
➢ Staff Training and Development: Lead the kitchen team by selecting and training new staff members. Conduct regular training sessions to improve skills and maintain a high level of professionalism within the team. Promote a positive and collaborative working environment, ensuring efficiency and harmony in the kitchen.
➢ Food Procurement and Cooking Execution: Manage the procurement and management of fresh ingredients based on daily menu requirements. Ensure that food is prepared and cooked according to high culinary standards, from simple dishes like sandwiches and salads to more complex menu items. Be responsible for freezing and preserving foods to ensure quality and minimize waste.

Requirements:
➢ A formal qualification in commercial cookery or a related field, with strong knowledge of Australian food safety and hygiene standards.
➢ At least one year of experience working in a restaurant or similar establishment.

➢ Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
➢ Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Mandarin is an advantage.
