The OpportunityThe Legal Counsel role is responsible for assisting the broader Legal team with legal advice and strategies for the development and delivery of VicGrid's projects. The role will include liaising and negotiating with stakeholders on the management of specific legal aspects for VicGrid projects. What you will deliver • You will assist in the development of tender and contractual documentation, commercial and/or legal agreements and correspondence where required to facilitate the delivery of the project.• In conjunction with project teams and other members of the Commercial and Legal team, you will undertake detailed negotiations with stakeholders.• You will provide general legal advice in relation to all aspects of project development and delivery for VicGrid's projects.• You will draft and coordinate briefings for Government approvals, ensuring a consistent and comprehensive approach on strategy and risk. What you will bring• You will be admitted, or eligible to be admitted, as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of Victoria or a similar jurisdiction within Australia. • You will have a sound awareness of current and emerging best practice in the procurement and legal fields.• You will have proven experience in providing high level oral and written advice on complex and challenging legal issues. • You will have demonstrated ability to perform legal research, with the ability to identify and deal with critical legal and commercial issues.
