Job Description
SGS is looking for a Coal Technician on a full time basis, to timely and quality sampling, preparation and analysis of samples for internal and external customers.
After full training, you will be responsible, but not limited to:
1. Assist with the preventative maintenance of all preparation and laboratory equipment.
2. To ensure accuracy, precision and traceability of prepared samples.
3. Assist with the calibration of all preparation and laboratory equipment.
4. Follow routine and non-routine sampling instructions
5. Opportunity to obtain nationally recognised qualification if desired
Qualifications
SGS will provide you with full training as required and, on the job learning, but as the successful candidate you will also have:
6. Previous experience in a fast paced, physically active industrial environment
7. Willingness to learn new tasks
8. Good attention to detail
9. Reliable with a strong customer focus
10. Previous coal sampling and testing experience would be an advantage.
11. Some computer skills Excel would be beneficial.
12. A valid driver's license and reliable transport are essential.
13. Ability to work in a team environment.
14. Ability to work shift and rosters and meet tight deadlines.
