This role involves close oversight of subcontractor and vendor contracts, claims, and procurement processes to ensure alignment with project and company standards.Your responsibilities will include:Tender Review and Risk Analysis: Review enquiry documents at the tender stage to identify potential risk areas specific to subcontractor and vendor engagements. Provide risk assessments and recommendations to guide tender decisions.Project Initiation and Commercial Procedures: Participate in project "Kick Off" meetings to establish a strong commercial foundation. Ensure that commercial procedures are implemented, and that site commercial staff are well-positioned and informed of project-specific requirements.Guidance on Contractual Documentation: Advise project management staff on the form and structure of interim and final certificates, as well as claims, by reviewing relevant conditions of the contract. This guidance is essential for the accurate assessment of subcontractor and vendor claims.Collaboration with Quantity Surveyors and Planners: Foster close cooperation between Quantity Surveyors and planning staff to ensure accurate assessment of subcontractor progress and variations. Implement site procedures and workflows that facilitate effective day-work accounting and variation identification.Commercial Status Reporting: Provide detailed, regular reports on the commercial status of all commercial matters within the project, with a focus on subcontractor and vendor financial performance and compliance with contractual obligations.Contractual Claims Management: Oversee subcontractors and vendors claims by ensuring that comprehensive records are maintained and prepare claims in a timely, professional manner. This includes presenting claims to the client in a format that supports approval and compliance, ensuring thorough due diligence has been conducted on subcontractor claims.Client and Subcontractor Negotiations: Lead negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors as necessary. This involves addressing claims, contractual procedures, and any commercial matters requiring resolution to ensure optimal outcomes for the project.Procurement Oversight and Strategy: Manage and control the procurement function to ensure that all subcontractor and vendor orders align with the approved cost control system (CCS). Establish procurement strategies, set guidelines for personnel and reporting, and oversee buying activities to maintain central oversight.About You:Our ideal candidate will possess a Degree in Quantity Surveying, knowledge in Law would be highly desirable.
