About the role:
The Physiotherapy team at GV Health is looking for a Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join our team, on a part-time basis at our Graham St campus.
The AHA may assist the Physiotherapy team to deliver client centred services across the acute, subacute and outpatient areas of the hospital.
The role involves completing a variety of direct and indirect clinical and administrative tasks.
The AHA may assist a client to complete an exercise program, or activity of daily living, assist with facilitating a group program, order, clean and manage delivery of equipment, and assist with the co-ordination of resources required for health professionals and clients.
The AHA will work within the Physiotherapy department but occasionally may work or be delegated appropriate tasks under the direction of other Allied Health Professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Dietitians and Social Workers.
They are integral to the delivery of services across the Physiotherapy department and inpatient environments.
The successful candidate will have:
Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or working towards same, or equivalent, with a minimum of 80 hours workplace learning Experience working as an Allied Health Assistant in either a hospital, aged care or community setting Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with other staff, patients and families Ability to work independently (with guidance) with minimal supervision Why work at GV Health?
