About the Opportunity
As part of the Park Lands, Policy & Sustainability Program, the Senior Project Officer, Integrated Climate Strategy will work with the Manager, Low Carbon & Circular Economy to deliver actions and provide strategic advice as part of the Council’s Integrated Climate Strategy, foster industry, government and community collaboration to halve our climate impact by 2030 and make it nil by 2035.
The Integrated Climate Strategy will be delivered in partnership with the organisation, other levels of government, business and community organisations. The City of Adelaide recognises the need for transitional support, therefore, we will prioritise action and investment in physical infrastructure, community development, natural assets, and economic sustainability.
The Senior Project Officer, Integrated Climate Strategy will:
* Develop and lead initiatives and programs that link to and support Council’s Integrated Climate Strategy 2030 and Council’s Strategic Plan 2024-2028.
* Develop and interpret internal policies and procedures for climate change mitigation and adaption and interpret external policies and advise other parties as required.
* Provide a full range of strategic and project support to the Low Carbon and Circular Economy Team.
* Co-ordinate the delivery, monitoring and review of the Council’s initiatives and programs relating to climate resilience, decarbonisation, and Council’s transition to being net zero ready which do not require specific professional or technical knowledge beyond this position.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Knowledge of environmental policy, and planning in one or more of the following: sustainability in the built environment, climate change mitigation and adaptation, climate risk, circular economy, energy and water management.
* Demonstrated experience with policy and program development and delivery in one or more of the following: sustainability, climate change mitigation and adaptation or energy and water management.
* Demonstrated experience in building effective partnerships across multiple sectors to deliver positive sustainability outcomes.
* Ability to analyse complex, politically sensitive information and formulate measured responses.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise and be flexible when responding to changing priorities and demands.

Please be advised this is a 0.8FTE, part-time opportunity with a starting salary at the Level 7 Classification commencing at $113,341 (pro rata) + 11.5% superannuation. Please note that the base salary will increase to $116,741 (pro rata) commencing the first full pay period in January 2025.
