The successful candidate must enrol in the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) Nuclear Medicine Medical Physics Training, Education and Assessment Program (TEAP). The successful candidate (trainee) will join an experienced multidisciplinary team and will learn and contribute in a stimulating clinical environment. The Role The position will be based within the Department of Nuclear Medicine and PET at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, New South Wales, However trainees will be required to work at several different sites across the South Eastern Sydney local health district over the three years of their training. This position is for a traineeship in Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics, specialising in Nuclear Medicine. The successful candidate must enrol in the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) Nuclear Medicine Medical Physics Training, Education and Assessment Program (TEAP). The position is for up to a 3 year duration and is supported by an ACPSEM Medical Physicist Trainee Support Grant. Employment will be for periods of 12 months, with extensions subject to adequate progress against ACPSEM TEAP training benchmarks. The Medical Physics Registrar will assist in the provision of medical physics services related to nuclear medicine across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) The registrar will assist in the provision of a broad range of medical physics services that are related to nuclear medicine. The work includes: research & development, education & training, equipment lifecycle management and performance testing, and management of radiation safety in Nuclear Medicine for staff, patients and members of the public. The South Eastern Sydney Local Health District incorporates a number of separate hospitals and trainees will be required to work at several different sites over the course of their training. Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and as an effective team member of a multi-disciplinary team with demonstrated high level written and communication skills Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position) Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to work independently with a high level of productivity to deliver training outcomes within agreed timeframes.
