Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
What’s the role?
Miwatj Health is seeking a Primary & Population Health Centre Manager to oversee the Galiwin’ku Clinic located in the East Arnhem Land. This role ensures effective management of clinic operations, develops strategies to address gaps and risks, and supports the Director of Nursing and Midwifery in implementing strategic directions, modern care models, and quality improvement initiatives. The position focuses on clinical leadership, operations, performance, and community engagement.

* Attractive salary ranging from $144,820 to $150,615 per year

Is this the right role for you?
* The ideal candidate must have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination
* An understanding of the issues faced by Yolngu people living in remote settings; Knowledge and experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services
* Demonstrated ability to provide effective high-level leadership, management and organisational skills including a high level of comprehensive analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure effective clinical and program management
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse/ Health Professional /Practice Manager and in a similar role with a similar community population demographic and service profile.
