Head of Department - Student Services - Innisfail State College (Two Positions) Education (Organisation site)Far North Queensland Region, Early Childhood and State Schools Division Innisfail State College is seeking two flexible and enthusiastic Head of Departments (Student Services) to join their school community.Both positions are full-time temporary, one for a period of 12 months and the other for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.If you are looking for that next step in your career, apply now.Job details Position status: Fixed Term Temporary Position type: Full-time Occupational group: Education & Training Classification: Stream 2 /HO1 Workplace Location: Innisfail State College Job ad reference: QLD/FNR603210/24T Closing date: 24-Nov-2024 Yearly salary: $141088 - $143582 Fortnightly salary: $5407.90 - $5503.50 Job duration: One position is 6 months and the other is 12 months About the Role Head of Department Student Services know their cohort and ensure they are connected to their peers and feel a sense of belonging at school.This role is proactive, data-driven, and relational.Head of Department Student Services advocate for and facilitate programs to meet the needs of the students in their care.This is a pivotal role to assist students be the best they can be through a focus on both student wellbeing and the good order and management of the school.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance.Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary.Work with and provide tools for the school leadership team and teachers to utilise to improve student achievement and attendance.Inspire and motivate students and staff through positive role modelling and being responsible for continuous improvement of the team within the context of the school.Model best practice in the implementation of personalised learning, educational programs or curriculum initiatives, monitoring student achievement and teacher effectiveness.Assume a lead role within the school leadership team with the development and implementation of strategies relating to targets relevant to school priorities.Develop and maintain links to local community groups and businesses.Lead and co-ordinate the coaching and mentoring of staff members, developing collegiality, building a learning and development culture, modelling innovative teaching strategies and encouraging appropriate professional development.Lead the development, implementation and review of teaching and learning strategies in targeted programs.
