Teachers and school administrators employed at Australlind Senior High School in 2024 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $5,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
About the Role
Australind SHS is seeking to appoint a vibrant and passionate HASS teacher who is responsive to change and is willing to support an inclusive education catering for a variety of learning styles across Year 7 to Year 12 HASS courses, including Senior School Careers. There is a particular opportunity for the successful applicant to teach ATAR Economics if suitably qualified.
The Ideal Teacher
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated HASS teacher with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the following:
6. Plan, teach and deliver to classes in both Lower and Senior School
7. Create and design face-to-face lessons with clear learning objectives and outcomes.
8. Use existing learning materials and develop your own as required.
9. Document and maintain assessment results in accordance with policies and procedures.
10. Evaluate and monitor student learning and course progress.
11. Play a role in student consultations, assessment grading and moderation.
12. Create an interactive and positive learning environment for students.
The successful applicant should possess the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant HASS curriculum through a variety of programs that are relevant to Year 7 to Year 10 students' needs. The interest and ability to teach relevant General and ATAR courses, including Economics would be a relevant skill set. You will be able to demonstrate teaching and learning strategies that support the development of sound literacy practice within the classroom. Teachers with upper primary school experience and Graduate teachers interested in teaching in our Year 7 program are also encouraged to apply.
