Triage Clerks provide an efficient and effective emergency reception service, including immediate attention to patients presenting for treatment and admission. Provide initial interview and registration verification of patient identification data. Process all emergency admissions and after-hours direct admissions. Liaise and assist in the coordination of the day-to-day functions of the Emergency Department (ED). Provide a clerical support service in relation to all the administrative functions associated with primary patient care.
The Role:
Triage Clerks are an integral role within the Emergency Department. The Triage Clerk is typically the first point of contact for patients who attend the Emergency Department. Triage Clerks interview, update and maintain patient records, including undertaking and completing all admission processes for patients who are being admitted to hospital. Assist Clinicians and Nursing staff as required and actively participate in the organisation's Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes. Participate in improving and developing initiatives for best practice for vulnerable people. The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
You will need:
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with all disciplines of professional staff.
* Capacity to assist with the administrative aspects of managing critically ill and seriously injured patients.
* Ability to be flexible and work effectively as part of a team in a busy, demanding work environment, together with well-developed time management skills and the ability to prioritise work.
Details of appointment:
Multiple permanent part-time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 56 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
