Part time, Fixed term contract | Location: Noarlunga Collaborative and client focused team | Experienced and supportive leadership SCHCADS Level 5 $49.28p/h super PBI salary packaging The Role We have an opening for an experienced Financial Counsellor to join our RESTORE program within our Children’s Services unit. This is a part time, fixed term role, until 30 June 2026. Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will work in close partnership with families and professionals within the RESTORE multidisciplinary team. Your role is vital in assessing financial needs, promoting financial literacy, providing education, advocacy, and planning the use of brokerage to support case management goals and reduce child safety risk factors. You will contribute to strengthening parenting capacity, improving family functioning, and enhancing connections to natural and community support. The key duties in this role will include: Engage transparently and assertively with families to assess financial needs Deliver trauma-informed financial counselling and contribute to integrated case planning Provide advocacy and referral pathways for families experiencing financial stress Enhance financial literacy through individual support and group education (where appropriate) Support therapeutic and practical interventions to address financial-related risks Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions, case reviews, and planning Collaborate with internal teams and external partners including DCP, NDIS providers, education and health services Essential Criteria Qualification in Financial Counselling Membership to South Australian Financial Counsellors Association (SAFCA) Knowledge of Child Protection Legislation Experience providing financial counselling services to vulnerable families Experience working with vulnerable families with complex needs Special Conditions Some flexibility in working hours may be required, with TOIL arrangements available.
