Job PurposeReporting to the Maintenance Shift Supervisor, this role will join the Engineering Team at our Port Botany Terminal in Sydney!As a Mechanical Fitter you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and machinery to an engineering standard for safe and reliable operations. You must be experienced in Heavy Industrial Equipment and work on a Monday to Friday Day Shift 12-hour roster.Key AccountabilitiesPerform mechanical repairs, maintenance and refurbishments on terminal assets, focusing on planned maintenance, equipment availability, and reliability improvements.Conduct maintenance and repair work on Quay Cranes, Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) Cranes, and other critical mechanical equipment.Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures, implementing effective solutions to restore functionality.Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, ensuring timely resolutions to minimise operational disruptions.Utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System (Maximo) for work tracking.Ensure all work meets engineering quality standards and adheres to operating procedures.Work both independently and as part of a team, contributing positively to the maintenance engineering team, ensuring assets are maintained in a safe and reliable condition.Strictly adhere to Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHS&E) policies and procedures at all times.Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceAustralian recognised Post Trade Qualification (Essential)A minimum of five years' experience in the heavy, manufacturing, mining or oil and gas industriesProficiency in using computerised maintenance work management systems such as Maximo.Proven experience with heavy industrial equipment, including Quay Cranes and Rubber Tired Gantry (RTG) CranesHigh level of competency in industrial hydraulics and modern diesel engines, desirableIdentify required parts and tooling and assist in planning tasks to ensure efficient maintenance operationsStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively within a team environmentFlexibility to work shifts and extended hours if requiredWorking at Heights Certification and the ability to work safely at heightsEWP, Forklift, and a current NSW Driver's License (Essential)
