We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mine Accountant to join our dynamic team at Hail Creek, on a permanent basis.
Reporting into the Commercial Manager, the Mine Accountant's primary focus is the provision of accurate and timely financial accounting information to internal stakeholders allowing both operational and corporate requirements to be met. This includes but is not limited to management and financial accounting, capital expenditure management and evaluation, budgeting and forecasting, contract evaluation, production and project reporting.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
* Month end processing and reporting for operational and capital expenditure.
* Providing timely and accurate cost accruals.
* Assisting in the preparation of monthly and yearly budgets and forecasts.
* Mentoring cost owners in cost control, accruals and commercial responsibilities.
* Assisting the Commercial Manager to improve commercial systems and the preparation and presentation of staff commercial training sessions.
ABOUT YOU:
* Possess a degree in commerce, accounting or equivalent.
* Hold CPA or CA qualifications (or in progress).
* Previously have worked within the mining or heavy industry.
* Good experience within ERP systems, such as SAP and budget tools, such as Xeras.
* Advanced knowledge of Excel.
* Over 6 years relevant experience in the industry.
* Ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
* Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and problem-solve.
* A sound understanding of information systems and processes.

We are only a one and quarter hour drive from the beautiful Mackay hinterland and a two- and half-hour drive from Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands and have a diverse group of people at our operation commuting from multiple locations in Queensland such as Rockhampton and Townsville, to name a few.
