Job Description
We are looking to appoint a Director of Franchising at Minor Hotels. This pivotal role, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, will be responsible for shaping and driving the strategic vision and operational performance of our franchising division within Australia and New Zealand.
The Director of Franchising will play a crucial role in expanding Minor Hotels' footprint, ensuring alignment with our overall corporate objectives, and fostering successful partnerships with franchisees. This position demands a forward-thinking leader with a strong background in franchise management, business development, and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry to propel our franchising efforts to new heights.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive franchise strategy for Minor Hotels in Australia and New Zealand, ensuring alignment with business growth objectives
* Monitor franchisee performance and profitability, identify areas for improvement, and provide guidance and support to improve performance
* Build Franchising Operating Procedures, Metrics, Systems and Processes for Minor Hotels Brands in Australia and New Zealand
* Develop and execute franchisee training programs to ensure compliance with brand standards and operational best practices
* Work with franchise partners to open new franchise operations and manage changeovers as and when directed, providing assistance in the training of new and existing teams
* Work closely with franchise partners to develop a professional relationship to achieve desired results for all stakeholders
* Negotiate and execute franchise agreements and ensure compliance with franchisee contract terms
* Ensure compliance to all brand standards within franchise operations
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
* A tertiary qualification in Business or a related field
* 10 years of experience in franchising, with a proven track record of success in developing and growing franchise programs
* Strong financial acumen, with experience managing the financial performance of a franchising program
* Strong knowledge of franchise laws and regulations in Australia and New Zealand
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with franchisees and internal stakeholders
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Previous franchising experience within the hospitality industry will be highly regarded
