Information Technology Services – End User Computing teamFull-time, fixed-term position through to June 2025HEW Level 6Based at St Lucia campusAbout This OpportunityGreat opportunity for an End User Computing (EUC) Support Officer to provide high-quality technical support to staff and teaching spaces. This role involves diagnosing and resolving IT issues, maintaining equipment, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. The EUC team are responsible for SCCM, InTune, JAMF, UQ Digital Workspace (Horizon Cloud), Printing and many other technical solutions.Key responsibilities will include:Cyber Security: Adopting and promoting sound cyber security practices in accordance with UQ policy and procedures.Technical support: Providing incident support to diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults. Being the first point of technical escalation for team members.Utilising service management software to monitor tickets and provide up-to-date job status information.Administering desktop management software on LAN servers.Customer service: Providing courteous and helpful follow-through in all aspects of service requests, incident and problem management.About YouEssential Bachelor degree with significant computing component and subsequent relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training such as industry certifications in either networking or OS environment.Detailed knowledge of the Windows’ operating system.Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Windows infrastructure including Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.Broad understanding of IT/data security issues and solutions.Demonstrated problem-solving skills.Experience in dealing with people in a service capacity within an IT environment.Experience working on project teams as a team member/leader.Organised and methodical approach to tasks and attention to detail.Self-motivated and able to work constructively either alone or in a team environment.Demonstrated interpersonal, oral and written communication skills particularly in documenting processes and work instructions.DesirableDetailed knowledge of additional PC operating systems such as OSX.Familiarity with VBScript, PowerShell, WQL and WMI.Knowledge of project management methodologies.Familiarity with IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).Experience with tools associated with the management of a PC fleet.Experience in mentoring other team members.The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, and criminal check.You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
