This position requires a high-performing and experienced Project Management and Engineering professional.This can be a hybrid position, working from home or a local office, while based from one of our offices in Australia.Main responsibilities:A strong leader and contributor in supporting new projects and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI)Ensure that the project technical solution fulfills customer contract and other requirementsReviewing and providing engineering input and guidance to ensure the energy storage facility solution is fit for purpose and optimized.Responsible for the project subcontractingResponsible for managing Balance of Plant engineering interfaceResponsible for High-Medium-Low voltage systems and protection relaysEnsure the fire protection and detection system is according to the project requirement.Plan project engineering phase and engineering work packagesResponsible for technical change and cost managementEnsure good collaboration with Project Management team members, in-house experts, and external engineering services providersCommunicate actively with customers and other business stakeholders on project technical mattersProvide lessons learned and development initiativesSafeguard that the electrical works are executed according to contract specifications and design directivesManage and initiate project activities for contractual fulfilment together with Supply Management, suppliers, subcontractors, and other members of the project-specific organizationPlan the works with the total costs and customer needs in focusFollow-up quality, progress, costs and documentation of the technical areaReport, evaluate and mitigate risksParticipate in customer negotiations when needed and maintain good customer relationshipApply project management best practicesSupport sales in Energy Storage project opportunitiesProvide Project technical specification and scope of supply reviewQualifications:Excellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishB.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering (preferably Electrical)Specialised cross-discipline technical expertise within Substation / BESS or solar engineeringNeed good electrical engineering background and good understanding of other engineering disciplinesProject Management experience (minimum 5 years)Experience with utility scale energy storage and renewable energy projects (minimum 5 years)Leadership experience and skillsGood negotiation and presentation skillsCost awareness & effectivenessExcellent teamwork skillsProactive attitude and positive Can-Do mind-setTechnical report writing skill and engineering analysis skill are desired.Why you and usWe at Wärtsilä believe in empowerment, ownership, and taking responsibility for our work.
