About the Role
One of our government clients is looking for a helpdesk desk officer to join their team. As helpdesk support Officer you are responsible for delivering efficient, effective, and timely technical support to end-users, enabling them to use technology resources seamlessly and ensuring the smooth operation of an organization's IT environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
4. Provide first-level technical support to end-users through various channels such as phone, email, chat, or in-person. Assist users with troubleshooting software and hardware issues, connectivity problems, and other technical challenges they encounter.
5. Provide IT Helpdesk support to the Council’s employees and Councillors (including home support where required for Councillors) for all the Council’s IT systems.
6. Assist users with installing, configuring, and updating software applications. This may involve ensuring that software licenses are valid and that updates are applied in a timely manner.
7. Provide exceptional customer service by being patient, empathetic, and responsive when interacting with users. Maintain a positive and professional attitude throughout the support process.
8. Provide and maintain technical support documentation and records are required.
9. Assist with the rollout of technology programs as required.
What you’ll need to succeed
10. Tertiary qualified in Information Technology or related discipline.
11. Relevant work experience in similar IT Support roles.
12. Experience working with Office 365/Windows 10/Adobe Suite.
13. Able to explain technical concepts in clear non-technical terms.
14. Excellent communication skills including impeccable telephone manner.
15. Technical experience in supporting Microsoft Teams and Mitel Telephony an advantage.
16. Hold a driver's licence as you will be required to travel around sites.
