We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.As a Perioperative Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:Deliver safe, researched-based standards of nursing careSupervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient careDeliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needsLead successful quality improvement and safety management project/s to deliver desired outcomesWork collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needsAct as a role model for Safe PracticeMinimum Requirements:Minimum 4 years’ RN experience in Scrub Scout / Perioperative Nursing - Experience in Neurosurgery is highly desirableAuthority to Work in Australia (Current)Valid NSW Working with Children checkBachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalentCurrent Registration (no restriction) with AHPRACompliance with ACQSHC National standardsClinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvementSelf-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning teamExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsHighly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer focusedObtained Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards)Why Healthscope?When you join Healthscope, you become part of our Community of Care.
