Overview of the Team and role
1. workplace inspections;
2. awareness raising activities;
3. audits; and
4. investigations.
Prevention is the primary focus through targeted intelligence driven stakeholder engagement, education and audit programs. The range of response and intervention following a safety incident includes investigation and justice outcomes through enforcement activity.
Working closely with the Director National Regulatory Programs and Regional Directors, colleagues and key stakeholders, the Assistant Director will have responsibility for leading Comcare’s proactive regulation of psychosocial risk and coordinating the successful delivery of regulatory activities by a small team for psychosocial inspectors nationally. This will include;
5. Managing proactive programs of work focussed on psychosocial risk for the Comcare jurisdiction, including the identification and implementation of continuous improvement.
6. Planning, allocating and managing the timely and high-quality delivery of relevant psychosocial risk regulation team workload requirements.
7. Working closely with Regional Directors and their teams as appropriate
8. Providing guidance and support to team members and the inspectorate in terms of more complex aspects of their work and contributions to Comcare’s organisational goals
9. Building and sustaining relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
10. Building and maintaining the capability and outputs in a team environment through coaching others, providing timely and constructive performance feedback conflict resolution and encouraging career development.
Mandatory Qualifications/Experience
11. Demonstrated qualifications and experience within a regulatory, compliance, law enforcement and/or mental health environment.
