Commercial Finance Manager role is primarily responsible for delivery of timely, accurate and insightful information on the position and performance of the group's investment portfolio for the Chairman, Executives and other key stakeholders. This includes management, board and investment reporting, as well as annual budgeting and aspects of statutory reporting. The Commercial Finance Manager works directly with Investment Leaders, assisting them with financial, operational, valuation and market analysis as part of investment management, as well and supporting across each of the investments on relevant projects such as strategic reviews, M&A, refinancing, investment reviews, etc. Necessarily, the Commercial Finance Manager will have regular direct engagement with executives in investee companies directly. Responsibilities: Reporting into the CFO and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Finance will support all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, structuring, regulatory, compliance, governance, financial reporting, and budgeting, as well as development and enhancement of internal control policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Preparation of accurate and timely management and portfolio reports Review, analyse and provide commentary on underlying investments, including monthly financial and operational performance, and annual audited results Conduct portfolio and returns reconciliations and analysis Prepare advisory board reports Manage annual budget process for the office and portfolio Provide an overview and analysis of investments and portfolio via the Portfolio Evaluation Meeting (PEM) process Work directly with Investment Leaders and portfolio company management in analysing performance, projects, and managing investments Provide ad hoc support to the CFO and Investment Leaders across specific investments and the broader portfolio Support transactions including strategic reviews, M&A, re-financing, etc Monitor and support select investments Supporting statutory requirements as required from time to time Drive continuous process improvement in systems and reporting and contribute to ongoing continuous process improvement projects Participate and contribute to other finance team initiatives as required Manage and maintain key stakeholder relationships, including Investment Leaders both locally, and overseas Support business leaders in their financial decision-making process Collaboration with Investment team, key stakeholders from core investment, and other advisers from time to time, to facilitate effective business decision making Your profile: Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA or similar) Investment, transaction analysis, valuation, financial reporting and systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail & hands-on Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills Proficient in MS-Office (particularly Excel) and PowerBI (desirable) Commercially astute Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite desirable but not essential) Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles & procedures Ability and willingness to take a practical approach and undertake work at an operational level Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
