As an Emergency Department Consultant at Mount Gambier Hospital, you will deliver clinical services of the highest standard, ensuring exceptional care for patients in the Emergency Department. Your role will involve leading a multidisciplinary team, supporting inpatients during clinical deterioration, and actively participating in teaching, quality management, and research activities. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Excellence: Provide outstanding clinical services to Emergency Department patients, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Crisis Management: Deliver expert medical care for inpatients experiencing clinical deterioration after hours, including Code Blue and Code Black situations. Professional Standards: Adhere to Regional, Hospital, and departmental policy manuals and documents, and maintain alignment with the standards of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. Education and Training: Engage actively in the teaching of trainee medical officers, interns, medical students, and where applicable, nursing and allied health professionals. Quality and Safety: Participate in clinical audits, quality, safety, and clinical risk management activities to continually improve patient care standards. Research and Development: Contribute to research initiatives and continuous medical education to advance knowledge and practices in Emergency Medicine. Qualifications: Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration. Why Join Us?
