Job Description
To reduce our dependence on rainfall and groundwater and support the growing population, Water Corporation has formed the Alkimos SeaWater Alliance, which includes ACCIONA Construction Australia.
The Alliance will design, construct, operate, and maintain the Plant which will produce 50 billion litres of drinking water per year, with provision to expand by an additional 50 billion litres per year in the future.
Construction of the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant will commence over the coming months and the project is expected to be completed in 2029. To help us construct the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant, we seek to bring an experienced Planning Manager into our business to work on major projects within the Perth metro area.
Your primary role will be to manage the development of project planning and monitoring systems to generate relevant information to assess the progress of a project in terms of time and cost.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Develop programmes, manage and implement relevant programme systems to monitor the progress of the project.
2. Conduct risk assessments on costing schedules to identify potential delays or disputes that may impact the programme.
3. Allocate and manage resources, ensuring efficient use and timely delivery.
4. Develop cost schedules to forecast estimated costs of completion.
5. Prepare and present progress reports, maintaining effective communication channels.
6. Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
7. Actively liaise with the broader teams to provide regular programme updates.
8. Support site staff in the performance of their individual planning and reporting responsibilities.
Required Skills and Competencies:
1. 8 years’ planning and/or project management experience in a construction/engineering environment.
2. Specialised knowledge of project scheduling and program logic networking.
3. Demonstrable understanding of design engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning methodologies.
4. Presented problem-solving/analytical skills.
5. Demonstrated relevant leadership skills.
