You will be responsible for financial forecasting, variance analysis, and cost management to optimise project performance. Key Responsibilities Provide financial oversight for major rail and transport infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with budgetary and compliance frameworks. Develop and manage project financial reporting, including forecasting, variance analysis, and risk assessments. Partner with project teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, resource allocation, and financial planning. Ensure compliance with industry contracting standards, financial regulations, and internal policies. Conduct scenario modelling and financial impact assessments to support strategic decision-making. Support month-end and year-end financial reporting, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting packages. Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive financial efficiencies across multiple projects. Collaborate with senior stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for financial and operational improvements. Manage financial risks by identifying potential cost overruns, schedule impacts, and contractual obligations. Support audits and financial reviews, ensuring accurate project accounting and regulatory compliance. Prepare financial presentations and reports for executive leadership and key stakeholders. Continuously refine financial processes, leveraging best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Monitor cash flow projections and project funding to ensure financial stability and resource optimisation. Assist in the preparation of business cases for new project initiatives, ensuring financial viability and return on investment. Contribute to the financial governance of long-term contracts and funding agreements. Skills & Experience Proven experience in project accounting, financial reporting, or commercial finance within rail, infrastructure, or large-scale engineering projects. Strong understanding of cost management, budgeting, and financial forecasting for complex, long-term contracts. Experience with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, or other ERP platforms. Knowledge of industry financial regulations, contract compliance, and reporting standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
