Where you’ll be working
You will be working with a diverse and dynamic team within the System Performance Support Branch, System Sustainability and Performance Division and based at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards, NSW 2065. The System Performance Support Branch has the lead role in monitoring the performance of health services by working in close partnership with health service executives, senior managers and clinicians as well as other parts of the Ministry and pillar organisations.
About the Role
The Principal Project and Policy Officer, Virtual Care Unit, System Performance Support Branch manages, coordinates, and delivers a portfolio of projects that supports the achievement of the NSW Virtual Care Strategy in alignment with Government objectives.
Experience in clinical operational environments, advanced project management, data analytics, communication and stakeholder management skills are an essential part of this role - you will be contributing to the development of recommendations and advice to the senior management team and other stakeholders on current and emerging reforms in the Virtual Care portfolio to facilitate executive decision making.
Staff within the System Performance Support Branch provide expert strategic advice on issues and obstacles that may adversely impact on health system performance, identify performance issues, assist health services in the development and implementation of recovery plans. The Branch promotes the implementation of state-wide initiatives that improve and enhance the delivery of high quality, efficient and effective health services in NSW.
A key priority for the Branch is the implementation of the NSW Virtual Care Strategy. Virtual Care has the ability to inform, connect, personalise, accelerate, and complement existing services to deliver care, from disease prevention and treatment to ongoing monitoring. There is a significant opportunity to relieve the pressure on Emergency Departments (ED) and hospitals by leveraging virtual care to enhance virtual urgent care and current Hospital in the Home services.
