Job Title: Safety AdvisorEmployer: DFP Recruitment ClientPosition Type: 6 month Casual Temporary Contract (Potential extension) - ASAP StartPay Rate: $72.98 per hour + SuperLocation: Perth, WA 6000Role Overview: This role ensures compliance with safety standards by implementing OSH requirements, advising on safety issues, conducting audits, managing risks, and overseeing contractor safety. It also involves incident investigation and preparing reports to improve project safety and compliance.Key Responsibilities:Assists in the development and maintenance of the clients Integrated Management System to align with legislative and ISO requirements.Implements, monitors and reviews corporate OSH requirements, including developing operational strategies and procedures.Provides professional advice to the Executive Director, Project Directors, staff and Contractors in relation to OSH matters.Assists in the development and review of OSH plans and procedures.Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in the area of Occupational Safety and Health and related management system elements (Rail Safety and Quality).Prepares communications, such as alerts, as required, to provide specific advice to projects.Undertakes worksite safety inspections, interfacing with Contractor representatives to address issues found at site, and escalating to client Management if required.Identifies safety risks and innovations associated with infrastructure construction and proactively communicates the findings to Contract Managers across multiple projects.Assists Contractors in project safety management and work process improvement.Coordinates and liaises with stakeholders for Contract works to ensure that all work groups are aware of and comply with the client's procedures when conducting work.Provides guidance on interfaces between separate work parties or Contractors on the same site.Provides guidance on the client's Safe Working requirements for employed consultants intending to visit worksites or sites under control.Coordinates the development and monitoring of the Audit Schedule.Conducts safety audits on internal processes and work sites, prepares audit reports and monitors progress on actions, preparing progress summaries for management.Identifies changes to specification and work process, and facilitates the necessary management of change processes.Inspects Contractor safety records and compliance with requirements, providing reports for areas of improvement.Reviews and assesses safety related aspects of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), identifies where safety related ‘hold points’ are detailed and ensures that actions at the respective hold point occur.Conducts inspections for the release of safety related hold points as identified in the contract and reports non-compliance with required hold point actions.Reviews contractors’ safety documentation and provides feedback on adherence and compliance with the clients requirements.Undertakes and/or oversees investigation of accidents/incidents and reports on issues and recommendations.Assists in maintaining project records relating to the safety requirements of contracts and compiles periodic safety performance reports.Assists projects in the activities related to Rail Safety and with the required evidence collation.Provides support and guidance for compliance reporting activities.Identifies opportunities and improvements by producing and analysing project statistics relating to safety, in the delivery of projects, process and procedures and makes recommendations to management.Provides performance reports to the Project Managers including the analysis of all sources of deficiencies, incidents and other project objectives, targets, Key Performance Indicators and related programs.Responsible for the development of a work schedule for the monitoring and review of the business, project and activity risks.Participates in risk assessment workshops and provides advice on requirements to satisfy client/customer requirements.Coordinates the Divisional risk management program to achieve compliance with the project’s Risk Management Plan.Coordinates and facilitates the ongoing review of risks and risk Treatment Action Plans.Facilitates risk assessment workshops and the compiling of risk assessment reports.Participates in the on-going review of the client's Risk Management Policy in line with best practice developments.Essential to be successful in this role:Completion of, or significant progression towards a Tertiary or equivalent qualification in a relevant field or discipline and/or extensive relevant experience.Considerable practical application of and understanding of the safety principles to meet the requirements of the WHS Law 2020 and Rail Safety National Law Act WA 2015.Considerable practical application of and understanding of the safety principles to meet the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 45001 and AS/NZS ISO 9001.Considerable practical application of and understanding of quality assurance principles and risk management principles.Proven relevant experience in the internal auditing of quality and safety management systems.Well-developed communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) including the ability to develop team skills and to develop a rapport with internal stakeholders.Satisfactory completion of required medical examinations to verify physical fitness to perform the duties of the position.Current valid NPC or ability to obtain one.Possession of a
