Job Description:
As Technical Operations Lead, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and direction of Information Technology systems at the West Swanson Terminal.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide feedback on system and hardware requirements at your respective port, making recommendations for improvements.
2. Work closely with different departments to determine requirements and identify areas of weakness that can be improved upon.
3. Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop strategies that align IT with the company's overall strategy.
4. Maintain organisational effectiveness and efficiency by delivering and supporting plans for implementing new systems nationally or locally.
5. Create a high-performance culture through personal leadership, teamwork, and development of individual accountability for performance.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Identify and engage with key stakeholders, building relationships to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
* Organise and lead regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss project progress, address concerns, and provide updates.
* Collect feedback from stakeholders to better understand their needs and expectations and inform project decision-making.
* Keep stakeholders informed of project progress, changes, and potential impacts.
* Ensure stakeholders have a clear understanding of project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, managing their expectations throughout the project life cycle.
Technical Responsibilities:
1. Plan for the life cycle management of key hardware and software in IT and OPS/IT space, including VMTs, Radios, APs, Cameras, Auto Gate Equipment, GPS hardware and software, and New Heavy Equipment purchases.
2. Plan, prioritise, and coordinate the development of assigned local projects, ensuring timetables and costs are adhered to.
3. Coordinate with existing project managers and teams, managing rollouts of new systems or upgrades, and acting as an intermediary between project teams and operational teams onsite.
4. Manage and monitor ticket queues of lower-priority incidents, ensuring resolution within Service Level Agreements (SLA).
5. Investigate escalated and reported incidents, providing resolutions in line with agreed SLA's for nominated Business Services.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* Tertiary qualifications in relevant IT disciplines.
* 5+ years of IT industry experience.
* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification.
* ITIL Foundations.
* Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, switches, access points, and other network infrastructure.
* Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of security roles, issues, and risks in a medium-level enterprise.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of how to work with other teams, including Architects, Developers, Test, and Infrastructure teams.
* Demonstrated experience in project management in IT environments.
* In-depth understanding and experience in managing Internet Protocol (IP) networks.
* Extensive knowledge of technologies such as Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare, IP Telephony, Analogue & Digital Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, Terminal Operating Equipment, Mobile Devices, 2-Way Radio systems.
* Knowledge and understanding of communication systems such as Global Positioning Systems (GPS) & Position Detection Systems (PDS) systems.
