About the Role The Events business unit is responsible for developing and delivering a distinctive and compelling events calendar that positions Sydney and NSW as the premier events destination of the Asia Pacific including Destination NSW-owned events: Vivid Sydney, the Southern Hemisphere’s leading multi-artform festival that transforms Sydney into a vibrant hub of creativity, innovation and community connection. Australia Day in Sydney, which is the pre-eminent celebration of our National Day. The Associate Director, Owned Event Marketing is responsible for leading integrated marketing strategy and campaign delivery for these two DNSW owned events. This includes building event awareness and driving demand to grow domestic and international visitors and expenditure, generate ticket sales and increase attendances to generate economic and social benefit to the State. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Proven experience in developing event marketing strategies that deliver against business objectives Demonstrated skills and experience in implementation of paid media campaigns, including managing the activities of advertising agencies, external suppliers and media agencies to ensure all opportunities to add value are captured. Demonstrated knowledge and experience across all forms of paid media production (such as broadcast, print, digital and outdoor) and media planning and buying in both Australian and overseas markets. Previous experience in engaging cross functional teams to develop integrated campaigns. Proven experience in measuring and evaluating activity (ROI) and experience in using analytic tools. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and proven experience in communicating with people at all levels. Proven high level project management skills gained in a consumer marketing environment, including experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines. Experience in managing and/or overseeing owned digital and social media channels. Demonstrated experience developing, managing and coordinating creative and media briefs and deliverables with both internal creative teams and external agencies. Experience working within corporate governance frameworks including budget management, and contract management within a public sector environment.
