We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.About the RoleAs an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will be providing personalised support to older Australians to remain independent within their home whilst making a positive impact in their community.This is a casual opportunity with working hours between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, with no evening or sleepover shifts. Shift durations can start from 2 hours. The successful candidate will have a willingness to travel, as they will be supporting clients who reside around Queanbeyan and surrounding suburbs, with travel of up to 45 minutes between clients.Key ResponsibilitiesDomestic assistance such as meal preparation and light house cleaningPersonal Care including grooming and showeringCommunity access to medical appointments and social activitiesSupporting with tasks and routinesBuild positive relationships with clientsSkills & ExperiencePassionate about making a positive impact in our ageing communityCertificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) will be highly regardedAn Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationshipsA current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients.
