The Sands Torquay is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Group Aqua Fitness Instructor to join our team in our Health Club swimming pool. This is a part-time role, where you will conduct 1-hour aqua fitness classes, helping our members achieve their fitness goals while having a splashing good time!Responsibilities:
Aqua Fitness Class Instruction: Plan and lead 1-hour group aqua fitness classes in our Health Club swimming pool. Create and deliver dynamic workouts that cater to participants of varying fitness levels and abilities.
Safety and Supervision: Ensure the safety of all participants during classes by adhering to pool safety guidelines and closely monitoring participants' movements and techniques.
Motivation and Engagement: Keep participants motivated and engaged throughout the class by providing clear instructions, demonstrations, and positive reinforcement.
Class Development: Design and develop aqua fitness routines that focus on cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, and balance to offer a well-rounded workout experience.
Member Support: Offer assistance and modifications to accommodate individual needs and limitations, ensuring that all participants can participate comfortably and safely.
Equipment Management: Properly set up and maintain any equipment used during classes, ensuring it is in good working condition and stored appropriately.
Attendance and Records: Maintain accurate attendance records and class rosters, ensuring a seamless check-in process for participants.
Continuing Education: Stay up-to-date with current fitness trends and industry developments related to aqua fitness. Continuously improve and enhance your teaching skills to deliver innovative and effective classes.
Requirements:
Certification: Possess a recognised certification in Aqua Fitness Instruction or similar water-based fitness certifications.
Experience: Prior experience leading group fitness classes, especially aqua fitness, is preferred but not mandatory.
CPR and First Aid: Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with participants and create a positive, inclusive class environment.
Enthusiasm: A passion for fitness and a genuine interest in helping others achieve their health and wellness goals.
Reliability: Punctuality and consistency in class attendance and scheduling.
Work Schedule:This is a part-time role, with classes scheduled in 1-hour time slots in our Health Club swimming pool.
