You will be part of the team responsible for the preparation and baking of our traditional European & Artisan style breads.As a Laurent Baker, you have the opportunity to work with a team of qualified bakers to enhance your skills with working on the creation of our famous artisan bread, exquisite pastries and much more. The ideal candidate will:Have at least 2 years’ experience as a Qualified BakerExperience with making European & Artisan style breads is highly preferable.Able to work on rotating rosters.Possess a love of bakingBe willing to learn and excel in your professionBe comfortable working in a fast-paced food production environmentHave some knowledge of HACCP quality systems and be quality focusedIdeally have experience machine operatingThe position's main responsibilities and duties will involve:Measure and mix bread dough to product recipesMould doughs into various bread styles (loaves, rolls, baguettes, sandwich etc)Prove breadsBake off breads as per production plan and product specifications.Display the ability to work on all Bakery Equipment and perform all processes depending on bread typeMonitoring of ovens and other machineryMonitor quality of raw ingredients, mixes and doughs & take corrective action if requiredMonitor product quality through moulding, proving and baking stages of production & take corrective action if requiredMonitor quality of finished bread products to ensure they meet standard specificationsFollow procedures to ensure that food safety standards are maintainedWork collaboratively with other bakers and kitchen staff to meet production targets.Train and mentor junior bakers or apprentices as needed.What’s on OfferEmployee discount card to use in our cafésFree on-site parkingJoin a fun & inclusive teamHow do your skills match this job?Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?How many years' experience do you have as a Qualified Baker?Do you have professional baking experience?Are you willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check?Do you own or have regular access to a car?Are you available to work public holidays?Laurent Bakery is a premium food business encompassing the manufacture, retail and wholesale of French/European style breads, cakes, pastries, savouries, confectionery and other food products.
