A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided plus tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas.This is a Fixed Term Part Time position for 12 months at 32 hours per fortnight within the Cardiology department. As a Specialist Service for Paediatric Pulmonary Hypertension, we are looking for an experienced nurse to work within a team providing expert comprehensive clinical consultation to our paediatric and adolescent patients.About the Role: As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will provide comprehensive clinical care, support and education to the patient, families and health team members. This encompasses nursing care from time of referral, throughout diagnostic work-up testing and time of diagnosis; commencement of therapies and continuation of all aspects of inpatient and outpatient care of this group.What you'll achieve: You will provide expert clinical knowledge and skills, in the assessment and management of patients within area of specialisation.You will coordinate the development and review of clinical guidelines for the service using an evidenced based approach and participates in developing these across the organisation.You will develop and deliver educational programs, workshops and in-service training for nurses and other health care professionals within the service and organisation.You will contribute to quality by identifying areas for improvement, collecting and analysing data and implementing evidence-based strategies.You will provide leadership and guidance to nurses, promoting a positive work environment and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Your skills and experience: A current nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Paediatric cardiac/acute ICU nursing experience, preferably five years or more.Clinical experience and knowledge of paediatric cardiac pulmonary hypertension nursing.The ability to demonstrate flexibility to changing priorities and environment.A relevant Post Graduate qualification (or working towards).If this sounds like you, click here to view the position description.What we offer: Discounted on-site car parking.Salary Packaging – Increase your take home pay!Other requirements: Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain.Valid Working with Children Check.Compliance with RCHs "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure.Application process: To apply, you will need a resume and a tailored cover letter outlining your skills, experience, and suitability for the position in line with the requirements of the position description.
