Job Title: Technical Officer Reports To: Feedlot Manager Role Overview: The Technical Office rperforms duties such as measuring and analyzing the quality of food and agricultural products. They provide complex technical support and advice on aspects such as research, production, technology, and improvements. Key Responsibilities Technical Data Record data pertaining to experimentation, research, or animal care Measure and/or weigh ingredients used in production and laboratory testing Collate and prepare data summaries, reports, or analyses that include charts or graphs to show research and production findings and results Assemble laboratory or field equipment when needed for experiments or testing Ready samples for analysis, following appropriate procedures to ensure they are stored, prepared, and disposed of properly Examine livestock or crop specimens to inspect for diseases or other problems Assists Livestock Farmers and Farm Managers in raising and managing livestock Management and providing nutrition assessment and advice Feeding Assist with bunk calling, feeding, batching, and milling Communicate on any commodity supply or quality matters Site Maintenance & Appearance Maintain site, buildings, facilities, plant, and equipment in a neat, organized manner Action any items requiring maintenance or attention. Report to Manager or Maintenance if unsure how to progress Quality & Systems Have an understanding and ability with computer software systems and worksheets Maintain complete and accurate records Maintain awareness of quality assurance programs, ensuring compliance Experience, Competencies, and Skills AQF Advanced Diploma, Diploma or equivalent or at least three years of relevant and related experience. Skills in data entry, analysis, and interpretation Ability to undertake operational tasks of a beef cattle feedlot, particularly operating the Feedmill, feedtruck, and feeding equipment Experience or ability to learn to operate feedlot-related software programs and worksheets Willingness and ability to maintain accurate records for all aspects of the business (human resources, safety, livestock, QA systems, maintenance, etc.) Interpersonal skills to develop quality relationships with work colleagues, contractors, suppliers, and guests Salary: Full-time salary between $73,500 & $80,000 How to Apply: Please apply by clicking on "Apply Now" and follow the prompts to upload your resume.
