Our client is a global leader within the gas industry with several operations across Australia, providing services for the production and processing of gases. They have an immediate requirement for a Site Supervisor to join the team to provide support during the construction of a key project in Yatala.
Your new role
As a Site Supervisor, you will be involved in supervising piling works, concrete foundation works, and services installation. Ideally, you will have some experience in mechanical installation, allowing for continued engagement in tasks such as piping, lifting, and mechanical equipment installation (pumps, motors, blowers, etc.).
Your responsibilities will include:
* Reviewing and becoming familiar with site procedures
* Conducting daily pre-start meetings, discussing tasks for the day and highlighting risks
* Ensuring contractors undertake works as per the plans and procedures
* Ensuring contractors adhere to PPE and site safety requirements
* Reviewing contractor safe work procedures
* Issuing and maintaining permits to work as per documentation
* Ensuring permits are up-to-date and relevant to the tasks
* Undertaking inspection of the works for quality and compliance
* Inspecting contractor machinery and tools to ensure they are fit for purpose
* Ensuring contractor personnel are fit for work and have the required skills and resources
* Daily reporting and signing timesheets for daily works as required
* Receiving deliveries to site
* Ensuring housekeeping of the site is maintained to a high standard
* Ensuring site facilities are maintained to a high standard
* Incident reporting and liaising with the site HSE officer
* Liaising with the construction manager for site and technical issues
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience in civil construction supervision, with some mechanical installation experience preferred
* Strong understanding of construction processes and safety regulations
* Familiarity with site procedures
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or construction management
