Your role involves maintaining and supporting Scylla sonars (primarily the towed array) and associated systems, with potential involvement in component design for support equipment or test fixtures. The position is based at Rydalmere and may require occasional extended hours and local or interstate travel. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with various teams to deliver and maintain equipment and systems, including engineering calculations, assembly techniques, and sourcing of parts. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on-site or on returned components. Create and maintain design and manufacturing documentation in line with company processes. Document engineering support and investigations, ensuring high standards and peer reviews. Ensure quality and configuration control of design, manufacturing, and test data. Participate in design, test readiness, and production readiness reviews. Your Skills: IEAust-recognized Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineering degree, eligible for Professional membership of Engineers Australia. Strong knowledge of engineering design, verification, and configuration processes. Familiarity with drafting practices and Australian standards. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing or supporting high-quality technical systems. Flexible attitude, team-oriented, and willing to develop new skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with Inventor CAD or equivalent. Desirable Skills: Knowledge of sonar systems. Familiarity with marine environment materials (urethanes, plastics, metals). Experience with obsolescence treatment processes and LEAN or continuous improvement.
