The Opportunity
We're seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to manage a dynamic, multi-partner international cultural history and media project based at the School of Media, Film and Journalism. The project entitled 'Comedy Country: Australian Performance Comedy as an Agent of Change' is funded by the Australian Research Council and brings together academics in media studies, performance studies and cultural studies from three Australian universities, along with performance venues, festivals, archives, libraries and a media production company.
In this role, you will lead the implementation of the Project's Operational Plan, coordinating project teams, field research, and media production; tracking deliverables; organising key meetings, subcommittees, and workshops; and handling logistics and administration, including ethics approvals, travel arrangements, expenditure, and ensuring compliance with Monash systems.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will bring strong project management skills, with experience coordinating large-scale academic and creative media and cultural projects to completion within timeframes and budgets. You will possess excellent planning, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively and manage competing priorities.
Your expertise in research, analysis, and problem-solving, combined with advanced communication and computer literacy, will support innovative project delivery. Additionally, your experience with archival materials in digital media, documentaries, or exhibitions will enhance project outcomes, alongside your ability to drive growth through grant development and stakeholder engagement.
