About the role The Health & Safety Advisor role is responsible for promoting and ensuring the well-being and safety of all personnel on-site.
This position emphasizes field engagement, offering expert coaching and guidance on health and safety systems, reviewing safety documentation, and supporting the completion of necessary reports and audits.
Regular interaction with frontline staff and contractors is a key aspect, ensuring compliance with safety standards and driving continuous improvement.
4/3 roster flying from Perth Key responsibilities include: Assisting in the implementation of the Health and Safety Management System.
Advising leaders on achieving health and safety performance objectives.
Providing coaching and mentoring to leaders, team members, and contractors to enhance safety competence, compliance, and proactive risk management.
Supporting incident investigations.
Participating in contractor management processes for site-based activities.
Assisting in the preparation and presentation of health and safety initiatives and promotional materials.
Actively contributing to the implementation of major hazard programs.
Prioritizing proactive safety engagement over reactive compliance tasks.
Experience/Requirements Minimum 5 years working in construction, Processing, Oil & Gas or Mining operations.
Experience in contractor management.
Experience in risk management Knowledge in maintaining systems in accordance with AS4801 and ISO 45001.
Knowledge in WHS and Mine Safety Legislation Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent) Lead Investigator (ICAM) Internal Auditor Qualified (WHS Management Systems) Cert IV TAA/TAE (desirable) Cert IV Leadership and Management or similar (desirable)
