The Role We are currently seeking motivated and experienced Kitchenhands to join our growing team. As a key member of the Beyond Broome team, you will play a critical role in delivering top-tier hospitality services. Key Responsibilities Prepare vegetables, meats, and sauces for our signature Banh Mi sandwiches and other Vietnamese street food offerings. Assist in the preparation and baking of Banh Mi. Wash, peel, and chop vegetables, and slice meats for daily production. Support Cooks with simple cooking tasks such as grilling meats and toasting bread. Ensure food preparation areas and utensils are cleaned and organised to meet hygiene standards. Regularly clean kitchen surfaces, equipment, and workspaces to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, and properly store them after use. Assist in stocktaking and restocking ingredients, ensuring proper storage and rotation to prevent spoilage. Occasionally assist with front-of-house duties during busy periods to ensure customer satisfaction. Prepare and package takeaway orders accurately. Handle waste disposal, keeping the kitchen area tidy and ensuring all waste is sorted and disposed of properly. Requirements Qualifications: Relevant qualification in hospitality or cookery. Skills: Knowledge of food preparation, food safety and hygiene practices. Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in preparing Vietnamese-style ingredients. Physical stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and handle the physical demands of a busy kitchen environment. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for cleanliness and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and organisation. Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive problem-solving abilities to address guest concerns effectively. Communication Skills: Good communication skills. Fluency in multiple languages is a plus. Adaptability: Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of hospitality industry trends, particularly in the Western Australia region, is advantageous.
