Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Shanghai Street XLB. As a key member of the culinary team, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen's operations, contributing to the preparation and presentation of our signature dishes.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar restaurant environment and be able to maintain high standards of food quality and hygiene, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with food safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management: Maintain stock control, assist with ordering and inventory management of food supplies, and monitor food quality.
2. Kitchen Operations: Ensure the kitchen adheres to food safety and hygiene regulations.

6. Cooking Standards: Prepare and cook meals to a high standard as per the restaurant's menu.
7. Training and Development: Select and train new kitchen staff to ensure quality standards.
8. Culinary Guidance: Provide guidance on cooking techniques and procedures.
To be considered for this role, you must:
1. Hold relevant qualifications - Diploma in Hospitality Management (Specialising in Commercial Cookery) or higher.
2. Have at least 1 year of Chef experience in a professional Chinese kitchen, preferably specialising in Shanghai cuisine.
3. Possess extensive expertise in Chinese cuisine, particularly Shanghai cuisine, including deep knowledge of its ingredients, signature flavours, and traditional cooking techniques.
4. Exhibit strong time management, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment.
5. Be enthusiastic, reliable, and a team player with a strong work ethic.
6. Have Australian work rights.
7. Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese is highly preferred to facilitate communication and enhance service quality.
