One of our federal government clients is seeking to engage Radio Frequency (RF)/System/Project Engineer for Melbourne, VIC location.Initial contract duration: 2 monthsExtension term: possibleLocation of work: Melbourne, VICWorking arrangements: HybridOverview:The RF Project Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end technical build, site installation, testing, and commissioning of the ionosonde solution for the Space Weather Upgrades project.Key duties and responsibilities:Undertake and manage technical activities for the build, site installation, testing, and commissioning of ionosonde equipment and associated IT network and Linux-based software configuration.Prepare required site installation plan, site acceptance test results, and operational safety documents as required by the project.Work collaboratively with the RTP Project Manager with respect to their management of the roll-out schedule and associated activities, including helping to identify risks and mitigating actions.Develop transition to operations documentation and support the transition to operations in accordance with Bureau processes and the Operational Technology & Engineering (OTE) Quality Management System.Perform technical work in line with allocated technical authority from OTE.Provide guidance and advice on technical aspects of the project.Provide guidance and advice on equipment retrieval, spares reallocation, decommission, and disposal.Work with the external vendors, service providers, IT Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, Network, and delivery teams, to ensure the ionosonde solution is delivered and supported appropriately, meeting the solution requirements, and ensuring quality and timely delivery.Proactively identify Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies (RAID) for the assigned work to the Project Manager.Undertake other duties within the Bureau of Meteorology, as required.Comply with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors, and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.Travel to ionosonde sites will be required to support the delivery of the project. A current driver's licence is necessary to fulfil this role.Commitment to APS Values, Employment Principles, Code of Conduct, and the Bureau's Social Justice Strategy.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREDMandatory:Significant experience in the delivery of systems engineering and technical solutions.Extensive knowledge of RF and supporting technologies.Experience with radio frequencies and radar equipment design, integration, and commissioning.A self-starter, highly motivated, and capable of carrying out technical engineering tasks under minimal supervision.High level written and oral communication skills and excellent organisational skills.Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with a focus on simplification.Demonstrated approach which is pragmatic, flexible, self-aware, and results-driven.The candidate must state their agreement to have or obtain (at Bureau expense) a Baseline security clearance.A degree or diploma of an Australian educational institution, or a comparable overseas qualification, which is appropriate to the duties; OR other comparable qualifications, which are appropriate to the duties.Desirable:Experience on projects upgrading brownfield sites with new RF equipment and integration with existing antennas.Experience with Linux-based software configuration and Python.Experience with solar power and battery systems.Experience working across multiple sites at once, managing the expectations of project schedule, dealing with competing priorities.Experience with liaising with vendors, subcontractors, and internal customers.If you would like to apply for the above role, then please send your updated resume with Cover Letter to rahul.sharma@italliance.com.au.
