About the role
Spark North East Link is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Earthworks Site Engineer to join our dynamic team. This critical role involves the meticulous planning, execution, and completion of our earthworks projects. As an Earthworks Site Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming landscapes and laying the foundational infrastructure for major developments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management: Oversee and manage all on-site earthworks activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
2. Site Investigation: Conduct comprehensive site surveys, soil tests, and other field investigations to gather essential data for informed project planning and decision-making.
3. Technical Documentation: Prepare and meticulously review project drawings, specifications, and related documents to ensure all technical aspects of the work are precisely captured and aligned with project goals.
4. Coordination and Communication: Act as a liaison between project managers, contractors, and other engineers to facilitate smooth operation and effective communication across all project stages.
5. Innovative Solutions: Implement creative and efficient solutions to overcome project challenges, optimizing the use of resources and advanced earthmoving techniques.
6. Compliance and Inspection: Monitor site activities rigorously, conducting regular inspections to ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations and safety protocols.
7. Technical Support and Training: Provide expert technical support and guidance to site personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Requirements:
8. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
9. Professional Experience: Proven experience as an Earthworks Engineer or in a similar role, preferably within the construction or civil engineering industry.
10. Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of earthmoving techniques, soil mechanics, and geotechnical engineering principles.
11. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D, as well as advanced technology for surveying and project management.
12. Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
13. Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
14. Certifications: Relevant certifications or memberships (e.g., PEng, PE, CEng) would be highly advantageous.
