These changes will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbourne's east.Laing O'Rourke is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria's toughest traffic noise standards. The local community will also benefit from new and upgraded walking and cycling connections, upgrades to Koonung Creek Reserve and revitalised wetlands and open spaces.About the roleWe are currently seeking a Temporary Works Manager to join us on the Eastern Freeway BTA project. This is a hands-on position with strong on-site presence and the opportunity to provide guidance to the projects technical engineering cohort.Key responsibilitiesManage performance for the attainment of technical compliance within Design packages and Construction Work across the design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and removal phaseEnsure that technical risks are managed throughout the life cycle of the projectSupport the Project Technical Leads and Temporary Works Managers with actioning Stakeholder design reviews including development and capture of technical responses and close-outReview, negotiate and approve designer cost estimates, variations claims and invoicesAct as an interface between the permanent works designers and temporary works designersAbout youRelevant engineering degree combined with experience in managing design on major projects with site based exposure.An understanding of the build and design processStakeholder engagement with ability to build relationships across all levelsAn understanding of cost control and experience working in both design and build stages of major projectsBenefitsWe work hard to create an environment that brings out the best in our people.
