Purpose of the Role
The Assistant Audit Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Audit and Assurance team to deliver high-quality internal audit services.
Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, this position ensures the effective operation of audit activities and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the end-to-end delivery of internal audits, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
* Collaborate with internal audit service providers to manage audit processes and stakeholders.
* Contribute to business process improvement initiatives and provide advice on governance practices.
* Draft strategic reports and briefing papers on complex issues for committees.
* Promote innovation and continuous improvement in audit practices and procedures.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Requirements
* Experience working in an internal audit function, applying International Professional Practices Frameworks.
* Strong analytical, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
* Proven integrity and understanding of governance and assurance frameworks for the Commonwealth Government.
* Desirable: Knowledge of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and Australian electoral law.
